I am now at the point in my life where I have MANY cocktail dresses in my closet and no formals, Grab-A-Dates, or date parties to attend. What do I do with all of these dresses that have been worn only once, maybe twice?!
Last summer, I “recycled” several of mine and wore to weddings. The one below is a little French Connection number I bought at Perfect Touch and wore to my last Pi Beta Phi formal in January of 2010. At Formal it was worn with black tights, black sequin blazer, silver Bib necklace, smokey eyes and big hair. See here
Last summer, however, I wore it to an evening wedding in Charlotte, NC in July (See the bride's blog here). It was worn with simple black heels, hair down, and minimal jewelry. See here
Wearing dresses two different ways really comes to how you accessorize it. In my next post, I will go into more of these details!

.... Sorry about the amateur photos - Will be sure to start taking pictures of these things when I wear them!
Stylings by Sloane
I would love to one day become a stylist. For now, this is how I will express what I love to do.

where it all began
One of the single most important moments in my life came when I was a sophomore in high school. An English class brought a former stranger and I together, and his name is Coleman Powell. The class and details are unimportant at this time, but what holds constant to this day is our beautiful friendship... and our love for FASHION.
It was that year and by that person that I was introduced to the series Sex and the City. Coleman let me borrow Season 4 one weekend and I did not stop until I absorbed every single episode. That weekend is what made my style was it is today. That weekend changed my life.
Anyone close to me knows that I am extremely fashion-oriented. It is something that I not only am consumed with in my personal life, but also in my relationships and professionally, and this is my medium to share what I love with you. I work in a boutique, Perfect Touch, here in Tuscaloosa, AL where I love helping women create ensembles that project their beauty and confidence to the world. I one day would like to open my own store. I also have dreams of becoming a personal stylist and taking my skills outside of the retail setting and into people's daily lives.
At this point, I do not know if I will take a career path in this industry (although my boyfriend and manager keep trying to convince me this is where I need to be), but I do know I will always love it, and I will always have things to share.
I give you Stylings by Sloane.
